Welcome

We’re glad you are here! Thank you for visiting our website. Have a look round.

Coronavirus update

Following the advice to avoid “non-essential” travel and contact with others and the subsequent Lockdown, the following events have been cancelled until further notice:

– ALL SUNDAY SERVICES AND EASTER EVENTS

– Monday Toddler Group
– Tuesday Lunch Club
– Tuesdays Together
– Do Pop Inn (Thursdays)
– Saturday Morning Prayers

Our minister Tom has also agreed to postpone his retirement until the situation changes.

As our nation faces the unprecedented challenge of the coronavirus pandemic, Churches Together in England (CTE) is encouraging Christians across our nations to continue uniting in prayer, praying #PrayersOfHope in their homes at 7.00pm each Sunday evening.

Following the overwhelming response which the National Call to Prayer and Action received on Mothering Sunday, CTE has prepared a candle poster for those who would like to place a permanent symbol in their front windows of Christ’s light shining in the darkness. For more information or to download a poster visit www.cte.org.uk/prayersofhope

About Union Church, Heathfield

Union Church is a Christian congregation that has been worshipping on this site for over 100 years. It was established as a union of Baptist and Congregational worshippers (hence the name) and over the years has been served by Ministers from both denominations, in more recent years and presently by Baptist Ministers.  Throughout its history the church, in common with many others, has experienced both decline and growth. There has been significant work amongst children and young people and many have come to faith and gone on to serve God in different places and ways.

At this present time we describe ourselves as a small congregation with a huge heart, seeking to love and serve God, our community and each other to the best of our ability and resources. We are inclusive in our outlook and offer a warm welcome to all.

Our focus verse for 2020 encourages us to trust in God through changing times because He is always there: ‘Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.’   Hebrews 10:23

We believe that God is at work in us in these days and a number of encouraging things are happening amongst us.
