Union Church is a Christian congregation that has been worshipping on this site for over 100 years. It was established as a union of Baptist and Congregational worshippers (hence the name) and over the years has been served by Ministers from both denominations, in more recent years by Baptist Ministers.  Throughout its history the church, in common with many others, has experienced both decline and growth. There has been significant work amongst children and young people and many have come to faith and gone on to serve God in different places and ways.

At this present time we describe ourselves as a small congregation with a huge heart, seeking to love and serve God, our community and each other to the best of our ability and resources. We are inclusive in our outlook and offer a warm welcome to all.

Union Church welcomes people regardless of gender, ethnicity, age, physical ability, learning difficulties, personal circumstances or mental health needs. Our Minister, Vicky, also endorses ‘Affirm’, a UK network of Baptist Christians working together for LGBT+ inclusion. Whilst many members of our church are also affirming, Union respects those within our church family who lovingly hold a different understanding.

We believe that God is at work in us in these days and a number of encouraging things are happening amongst us.
